Voluntary Pet Food Recall Update (as of May 2012)

At Braxton’s Animal Works the health of your pets is of greatest importance to us. Based on a recent FDA recommendation, Diamond Pet Foods initiated a voluntary recall on three Diamond brand pet food formulas due to potential salmonella contamination. While these formulas are not sold in our store, we have continued to monitor the situation. Diamond Pet Foods also manufactures food for other pet food companies including, Natural Balance, Canidae, and Wellness dry kibble. Over the weekend these three pet food companies initiated a voluntary recall of varieties manufactured at a Diamond facility.

At this time, none of the foods made for Natural Balance, Canidae, and Wellness have tested positive for salmonella. This voluntary recall was issued out of an abundance of caution due to the fact that they are made in the same facility as the Diamond products.

Braxton’s is confident in the products we carry and we feel it is important that you are comfortable with the foods you feed your pets. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the foods you are feeding, or the recall; please call us. If you have purchased any food affected by this voluntary recall or would like to talk about an alternative to the food you are feeding, we will be happy to exchange any unused portion for a new bag of food.

We are constantly monitoring the situation and continually checking our inventory as new information surfaces and we will continue to pass this information along to you.
